ARTIST CALLOUT: We are hosting our first Posthuman Symposium @forestforgeTC from 14-19 September. And are looking for 3 artists local to the Bournemouth/New Forest area to join us. This is an unpaid opportunity!
The Symposium will explore alternative futures to human and non-human oppression, the climate crisis and neoliberalism. Artists will participate in discussions and work on response performances and installations based on topics discussed.
We are offering:
- Space to create with like-minded artists.
- An opportunity to develop your creative practice in a supportive environment.
- A chance to discuss and explore posthumanism in performance.
No prior knowledge of posthumanism is necessary! If you are interested, please email us a short (Max 150 words) expression of interest to posthumansymposium@gmail.com closing date for applications 20th August 2021.

Sessions will run 10.00-17.00 Tuesday to Sunday, each day will include morning discussions on various themes surrounding posthumanism and plenty of time for creative work in the afternoon.
You may choose to work on a new or an existing project that fits the values of the symposium. You can work alone or with other members of the ensemble, it is up to you.
Our background is in theatre and performance however we welcome applications from all artistic disciplines including but not limited to dance, spoken word, music, visual arts, etc.
We believe that a positive future depends on decentering cultural hegemonies and elevating voices that have been silenced, therefore we encourage applicants from disadvantaged backgrounds to apply. Especially keen to hear from first generation migrants, those who identify as D/deaf or disabled and people of the global majority.
