Tales for an Unruly Audience

This Saturday (20th July) I have the honour of performing my solo storytelling performance Tales for an Unruly Audience at Tales from the Forge.

Tales for an Unruly Audience is a participatory storytelling performance that brings together bardic storytelling, a carnivalesque experience, and Voluntary audience participation to create an entertaining, fun, and anarchic spectacle- perfect for fans of Terry Pratchett, Monty Python, and ancient folklore- and those who want permission to misbehave!

The show started life in 2020 as my final year piece at Rose Bruford college where it was performed under COVID secure conditions, in the four years since I’ve developed the show into the current version which has played in Poland, Greece, Brighton, London, and now Ringwood

It’s a delight for me to not only perform it for the first time in my hometown but also to headline a Festival that is being organised by Forest Forge Theatre Company,

Forest Forge is where in 2009 I began my professional theatre journey, when I participated in the first ever round of what is now the elevate project, from that I joined the Youth Theatre, and from that The Gap (Now Young Company) this journey ingrained in my very soul the tenets of collaborative ensemble theatre making which have formed the cornerstones of my creative practice. Returning always reminds me of why I got into this business called show in the first place, to create theatre that is joyful, fun, and has HEART! Something that they excel at (as you will see throughout the festival).

Huge thanks to Forest Forge for their invaluable mentorship and support throughout the process of developing the show, I’m incredibly excited for what the future holds. And look forward to more collaborations on the horizon!

And so, I invite you to a spectacular afternoon of myth, mirth, and magic, with tales to astound and amaze, stories to beguile and astonish, come spend an hour with the Abbot of Misrule, and the afternoon with Forest Forge

Look forward to seeing you there!
