Wellbeing Pledge

Forest Forge’s work across touring theatre, participation and artist development enriches people’s lives and, as a result, supports improved mental health and wellbeing.

We recognise and prioritise the wellbeing of our artists, participants and staff. We understand that the company can only thrive when the individuals we work with and for are supported.

Our Wellbeing Pledge sets out our approach and commitment to caring for the wellbeing of everyone we work with.

We commit to:

Welcoming everyone into our activities and undertaking informal check-ins to monitor wellbeing and enable us to provide appropriate support.

Celebrating individuality, respecting everyone for who they are and where they are in their lives right now.

Being sensitive and responding to the collective mood in a room.

Providing a safe space and open door for any artist, participant or staff member who needs support or to share news.

Practicing active listening

Signposting to up-to-date resources and services for anyone seeking further advice or support.

For our workforce we also

Offer creative staff, artists and freelancers our time. We recognise that being a freelance or part time member of staff can be lonely, so we prioritise offering space and time for feedback and conversation to support those we work with.

Recognise that our workforce has different needs at each stage of life and make adjustments according to their needs and situations at that time.

Maintain appropriate policies and procedures that support wellbeing, including flexible working, whistleblowing and anti-bullying.
