Environmental Pledge

Forest Forge is based on the edge of the New Forest National Park and we are deeply embedded in our local area and the rurality of the New Forest. As such, we are committed to caring for the environment and embracing green theatre practices wherever possible.

As a company we pledge to:

icon
Create all our productions with at least 90% of sets, costumes and props from existing, reused, recycled borrowed or second-hand sources.
icon
Endeavour for all our touring productions to have only one vehicle on the road, carrying out set and performers and reducing our carbon footprint and unnecessary travel.
icon
Dispose of rubbish and unwanted items responsibly, including recycling all we can and selling or donating items for further use.
icon
Tour to local venues and villages enabling our audiences to walk or cycle to performances.
icon
Use only recycled, environmentally friendly or fair-trade office and kitchen supplies at our base in Ringwood.
icon
Limit our energy consumption by turning off our water heater at night.
icon
Lowering our thermostat and turning off lights and equipment when not in use.
icon
Book and plan our tours to limit travel.
icon
Sharing our ethos with the artists and participants we work with.

Green theatre practices
